Well I have and I must tell you, it didn’t happen how I always imagined!
After a life time of summers on the Jersey Shore swimming, sunning and hearing the countless news reports of “ocean life activity”, it finally happened to me….SHARK!!!
However, it didn’t happen exactly the way I’d always imagined and to be completely honest and grateful, it didn’t happen in the green, murky curls off the Seaside or the blue plankton rich waters off Cape May, it happened on the lobby level, in the conference room of the Grand Hyatt in midtown Manhattan and it was unforgettable.
This past weekend I had the distinct honor and pleasure of being selected as 1 of 8o female entrepreneurs from around the country, to win an all-expenses paid, weekend trip to NYC to participate in the T.J. Maxx, #MaxxYou project workshop and what a feeding frenzy it was! The T.J. Maxx Team and Corporation left no shell unturned and delivered a weekend that was completely maxed out. It was an action-packed day of resources, tools, information, content, and objectives that could ultimately help you achieve your lifelong dreams and embrace your individuality.
In partnership with boxing world champion, TV and podcast host, author and speaker, Laila Ali and businesswoman, investor, speaker, TV personality and SHARK, Barbara Corcoran – two women who have overcome adversity, defied expectations and pushed themselves beyond their shorelines, T.J. Maxx’s #MaxxYou project workshop dove down deep and delivered buried treasure. Every woman who attended was as happy as a clam at high tide and so was I. T.J. Maxx handled all travel, room, food, gift bags and goodies, as they filled us up with more entrepreneurial wisdom, then grains of sand in white water. As I see it, everything went off without a ripple.
As a special bonus, one lovely lady and I got to present our elevator speeches to Barbara Corcoran and let me tell you, we didn’t flounder. To my surprise, one of the wonderful ladies at my table recorded mine and if you watch the attached video you’ll see Muther surfing the rift, of the 2-minute clock*.
With that, I’d like to thank everyone who made this past weekend, as memorable as your first summer love and as motivating as getting your tan before Memorial Day.
T.J. Maxx, the #MaxxYou project was….. EPIC.
Disclaimer: I was told by a member of the event staff in an email I had 1 minute, so when I got on stage and found out I had 2 minutes I went floppy, look that up under surfing terms.
